Musical Youth Of America workshop is a revolutionary program designed to educate elementary and middle school children on the importance of music in our daily lives, and also, to inspire them to learn to play an instrument. The workshop begins with a brief lecture discussing reasons why someone would want to play a music instrument; such as, enjoyment, obtaining a college scholarship, career choice, etc. Further, several music instruments are demonstrated by professional musicians. These instruments include, drums, bass guitar, piano, guitar, saxophone, trumpet, and vocals. Examples of the topics covered include the function of each instrument, how the instruments interact with one another, how the instruments are played, the importance of working together as a team. This powerful one hour program concludes with the band performing songs, interacting with the children, and a meet and greet. The children can meet and talk to the musicians and touch the instruments.
